  • Chronic stress (weeks to years) does the opposite: persistently elevated cortisol reduces the production and effectiveness of white blood cells, alters natural killer cells and T-cells, and leaves the body more open to infection.
  • Chronic inflammation follows — a slow burn implicated in cardiovascular disease, diabetes and mental health struggles alike.

The part most advice misses
